To remain in the Honors College, a student must maintain a cumulative Daytona State College GPA of at least 3.25. Students who do not meet this requirement are candidates for dismissal from the Honors College.
To graduate from the Honors College, a student must:
- complete 15 Honors credits (with a grade of B or better)
- complete 20 hours of Service and/or Leadership
- complete a final project (research thesis, reflection paper, or other approved project)
- maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative Daytona State College GPA
What is the difference between graduating from the Honors College and graduating with honors?
The distinctions of High Honors and Honors are awarded based on GPA upon graduation. Graduation from the Honors College is an additional distinction awarded to students who have completed all of the Honors College requirements. Those graduating from the Honors College will receive special recognition at graduation, be awarded a gold seal on their diploma, and 'Honors College Grad' will appear on your transcripts.
