What is a ‘What if Report’?
What If Reports are designed for those students who are thinking about changing their major but need to know how many classes they would have to take if they changed. For instance, if a student is in an AA degree and is thinking about changing to an AS degree in Business he or she could run a What If report and see how many more classes it would take to graduate if the major was changed.
What If Reports DO NOT change your major. If you want to do an actual major change you will need to meet with an academic advisor. To run a What If report log into your MyDaytonaState account and follow the instructions below.
First, go to the my.daytonastate.edu portal and login.
1) Click on 'My Academics' then choose 'Planning and Progress' and click 'View What-if Report' from the drop-down menu.
2) Then at the next screen, click on click on 'Create New Report'.
3) At the next screen, the career should be 'College Credit programs for the AA degree,
an AS degree or one of the bachelor’s degrees or Technical/Workforce programs for
The Academic program would be Associate for AS or AA, BSED for Bachelors in Education,
BACH for BAS, BSET or BSIT, TCert for a vocational program, or CCERT for a College
Credit Certificate. Then pick the major under Area of Study and click on Submit Request
and the system will give you a degree audit for the major you entered.
