LADY FALCONS FINISH 2ND AT FIU PAT BRADLEY INVITATIONAL
CHAN CAPTURES INDIVIDUAL TITLE
November 4, 2014 – Lakewood Ranch, FL: The Daytona State Lady Falcons finished off their fall season by finishing 2nd in the 37th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational with season low team scores of 294-296-289. The Lady Falcons finished 7 strokes behind tournament winner Memphis who posted scores of 288-296-288 and 2 strokes ahead of tournament host FIU who posted scores of 295-294-292.
Sophomore standout Tiffany Chan won the event by 2 strokes over FIU’s Meghan McLaren with scores of 70-70-69 to post a 7 under par total of 209. Chan, who is currently ranked 30th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings captured 2 individual titles this fall and ended the fall season with an impressive 69.7 scoring average.
Other finishers for Daytona State include freshman Kathleen Duperval who tied for 11th with scores of 73-76-73, sophomore Whitney Stevenson who finished 14th with scores of 77-76-70. Stevenson’s 2-under par was her low round of the season. Sophomore, Ji Sun Kang posted scores of 74-74-77 and finished tied for 15th and sophomore Courtney Cobb finished in a tie for 41st with scores of 80-77-79.
“This was a very competitive tournament and my players played great! This was a great way to finish off the fall season and I’m very proud of these young ladies. Having a solid finish like this will carry them into the spring season with confidence and I anticipate they will all work hard over the winter break”, Coach Laura Brown commented. “I am extremely pleased with our fall season, as we had some solid finishes and contended in every event we competed in. This is a great group of young ladies and we are looking forward to the spring.”
The Lady Falcon will return to competition February 13-15 in Fort Myers, FL at the 2015 Eagle Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University.
