RFQ #13-524 (Request for Qualifications)
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 287.055, Florida Statutes, the “Consultants’ Competitive Negotiations Act”, Daytona State College hereby publicly announces it will consider pre-qualified professional firms, registered and licensed to do work in the State of Florida, for a project requiring Architectural and Engineering services.
Project Information
The 36,000 sf Theater Center (B220) was constructed in 1966. The 2-story building includes a 450 seat theater, classrooms & labs for band, dance & other performing arts programs as well as a ceramics lab with associated kilns. The building continues to house a band/orchestra room, a scene shop, ceramics, piano lab, practice rooms, classrooms & 11 faculty offices. A plan is being formulated to relocate all current programs in the building. The mechanical systems are failing and considered un-repairable due to age and availability of parts. One portion of the building contains asbestos. The master plan calls for the remodeled building to become a new student center and cafeteria (replacing current B130 services) on the first floor & student activities spaces on the second floor. The programming of the third & fourth floor is not complete.
- New construction for an estimated 70,000 sf addition and 18,000 sf remodel to the Building 220 (Theater Center)
- The facility is located on the Daytona Beach Campus
- Design will include site work and parking improvements
- All design and construction documents to be in REVIT
- Project delivery method: CM
- Estimated total budget inclusive of all fees and furnishings: $30M
- Funding for construction has not been appropriated
- Project map showing building and parking scope
- B220 floorplan with site available upon request
