Giving Opportunities

The Foundation accepts gifts including cash, credit cards, property, securities, bequests, trusts and life income arrangements in support of activities directly related to the mission of Daytona State College, including:

• Scholarships, which provide financial support to students to defray the costs associated with attending college.  For more on scholarships, click here.
• Emergency Grants and Emergency Loans to help students acquire books and equipment as well as complete their certification exams.
• Faculty, staff, program, and capital support.

Donors may choose to structure their gift as an endowment, which allows the Foundation to consistently provide student, departmental, divisional and college support while strengthening and expanding worthwhile programs of excellence. In general, the principal amount of the gift is invested and the spending policy stated so that the account will grow in value each year. Such gifts provide continuing support to the Foundation and are a vital component of our overall financial strength.

Whatever you decide, please know that your contribution will be used to favorably influence the lives and success of our students.

Honor and Memorial Gifts

Honoring a loved one through a charitable gift is an especially thoughtful way to remember family and friends. Whether a memorial or a living tribute, start a tradition of showing your respect and sentiment on your next special occasion.

Matching Funds

Certain gifts may qualify for matching funds from private companies or governmental agencies such as the State of Florida. This means that the organization makes a gift to the Daytona State Foundation as a result of your gift to the Daytona State Foundation. This matching amount may be fixed or based upon a percentage of your original gift. What a wonderful way to make an even larger positive contribution towards the success of our students and programs!

The Daytona State Foundation encourages all donors to research matching funds companies and to apply for the match. The Daytona State Foundation will assist the donor with any documentation required to facilitate the matching gift.

Certain gifts may qualify for matching funds from governmental agencies. The Daytona State Foundation will apply to these agencies and/or programs for matching of all qualified donations.

Any matching funds received will be credited to the same account as the original gift unless otherwise specified by the donor. As there are different application guidelines and procedures for matching funds, it may take up to 24 months for matching funds to be credited to a Daytona State Foundation account.

Restrictions

The Daytona State Foundation will honor all donor-designated restrictions associated with a gift as long as it is in keeping with the missions of the Daytona State Foundation and the College.
