Issue/Opportunity – The necessity to maintain access to the student’s interactive e-text is of great importance. The methodology and source of this e-text storage must be determined.
Topic and Potential Actions – Investigate, review and recommend the appropriate methodology and technology to store the student’s e-texts (with all interactive functionality and usage) either via the College, hardware provider, publisher, other third party or some combination thereof.
Necessity for formal RFP, RFI or Bid – The Sever/Storage/Cloud Sub-Committee must determine if it recommends that the College seek formal responses (RFP, RFI, Bid, etc.) from the providers of these services.
Implementation Timing and Critical Path - Other Issue/Opportunity that need to be resolved prior to or in conjunction with: Hardware/Device issues, E-Reader Platform issues, Printing issues and Publisher issues.
Status – The E-Text Committee and the College’s I.T. Division have been researching and discussing this issue from the onset of this project. Many solutions have been reviewed though none formally determined most appropriate.
