Issue/Opportunity – The E-text Committee has consistently addressed ADA issues throughout the research/investigation process to date. The ADA Issues Sub-Committee is charged with continuing this effort to insure that every phase of this project addresses ADA needs and solutions. These issues include: device, e-text reader platform, e-text files to be converted to various formats and devices by DSC, etc.
Topic and Potential Actions – Investigate, evaluate and recommend the e-text format requirements to best support the Colleges current services and support devices to our student with disabilities.
Necessity for formal RFP, RFI or Bid – The ADA Issues Sub-Committee must determine if it recommends that the College seek formal responses (RFP, RFI, Bid, etc.) from the providers of these devices, services and/or e-text data.
Implementation Timing and Critical Path – Other Issue/Opportunity that need to be resolved prior to or in conjunction with: Hardware / Devices, E-Reader Platform issues, and other Publisher issues.
Status – The ADA research has been limited. The College has responded to a few inquiries from individuals/organizations/advocates for adults with disabilities. All inquiries have been addressed with no request for further follow-up requested.
