Program Overview

Take Our SurveyAs the University of Central Florida shifts its priorities for these difficult economic times a decision was made to drop several baccalaureate-level programs.  Three of those programs are programs of interest to Daytona State College (DSC).  As faculty and staff have reviewed the viability of such programs at DSC, the conclusion is that Daytona State is the best option for the programs in Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET); Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET); and Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology (BSIST).

atcDaytona State College has a superior facility i.e., a $30 million state-of-the-art Advanced Technology College (ATC, pictured right) campus with engineering/electronic lab space, required software and hardware, and a state-of-the-art online delivery platform. The ATC has and will continue to operate with a “Technology Refresh” plan to update all labs on the ATC campus on a regulated schedule.

The ATC has served as a key component in attracting new business and industry to the region as well as expansion of current business and industry.  These programs will greatly enhance local, regional and state economies.  The location of the facility will help strengthen the east coast connection of I-95 to the I-4 High Tech Corridor. Daytona State College is discussing graduate partnerships with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to be housed at the ATC. This program is a natural to expand opportunities for students throughout central Florida, benefit employers and provide economic diversity for the central Florida and east coast corridor.

Daytona State College has been accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) at the Level II baccalaureate level for more than three years. DSC has experienced high enrollment in the baccalaureate programs along with high performance and job placement rates.  Historically, DSC has a proven track record of workforce programs from certificate programs to BAS degrees.
