Daytona State College offers employees in regularly established positions a variety of medical, dental, vision, and pharmaceutical plans on a pre-tax basis through Section 125 Flexible Benefit Accounts. The college pays most of the cost for the employee. Spouse and family coverage is available at group rates through payroll deduction. Retirees may obtain coverage at their own expense.
Employees are eligible, from date of hire, for term life insurance payable to the beneficiary in an amount equal to twice the employee’s annual salary rounded up to the nearest thousand dollars. Accidental Death and Dismemberment is also included in the policy. This benefit is paid for by the college.
Long Term Disability
Employees receive disability insurance after 30 days of employment. This benefit is paid for by the college. After a 90 day waiting period, employees with a qualified disability receive 60% of their salary for a certain period of time.
