WAC/WID: Online Program: Active Learning, Critical Thinking, and Writing

The Online WAC/WID Program invites faculty or staff to engage in an online learning environment as a cohort during the spring semester. Participants read and discuss John Bean's text, Engaging Ideas, via a Falcon Online course. Bean's text is used as the pedagogical framework for the WAC/WID program, and faculty participants are encouraged to also participate in the Summer Teaching & Learning Retreat in order to workshop applying Bean's approach to their own classes and assignments. beanbook

The online program begins in the Spring of 2017. It's available to DSC full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff. If you'd like to participate, please contact Jessica Lipsey, DSC-UCF Writing Center Coordinator.

If you sign up for this program, you will be provided a hard copy of the text, and you will be enrolled in a Falcon Online Course Shell.

Faculty Fellows and faculty members who have completed this portion of the program are eligible to facilitate and receive a stipend for doing so. Additionally, Writing Center staff may facilitate.

To check out more information, please explore our handout or contact Jessica Lipsey.
