The best way for both instructor and students to learn about the Writing Center is to host an Introduction Workshop. Send us an "Intro" request or visit us in person to learn more. We also recommend including a blurb about the Writing Center on the course syllabus to familiarize students with our services. We hope faculty will engage students in collaboration with the Writing Center services by recommending meeting with a tutor early in the writing process and scheduling appointments for subsequent revision. Click the Menu to get a printable PDF of our services.
Any faculty support goes a long way in serving the entire DSC community. We encourage and appreciate referrals to the Writing Center, but ask that consultations with us not be mandatory. If any faculty needs to verify a student visit to the Writing Center, please email us at CWC@daytonastate.edu. We also welcome faculty referrals for student peer tutors who are not just strong writers, but ones that also have a desire to help others and are curious to expand their own skill set.
