The Office of Global Education & Affairs (GEA) assists the college in preparing students to successfully compete in the job market, improve their quality of life, and embrace cultural diversity. The GEA seeks to increase global awareness throughout the college, while serving the international needs of the local community. The office assists the college in coordinating faculty-led study abroad programs.
The GEA office houses the Office of International Students (OIS). The OIS assists international students in locating housing, finding appropriate health insurance coverage, and assisting in other issues related to relocating to the United States such as opening bank accounts and utilizing public transportation. OIS also provides other community information, general advising from academic peer support to student activities, and on-campus student employment information. The GEA houses the Manager of International Projects which is responsible for developing international academic exchanges and linkages for the college, coordinating college study abroad programs, assisting in recruiting international students, seeking outside funding for and administering international education (IE) activities at the College, coordinating faculty and staff exchanges, assisting in IE curriculum development activities, and acting as liaison to public and private domestic and international agencies and associations.
