Counseling Services The Daytona State College Counselors welcome you to the college and invite you to come in and meet with us. We are available on all Daytona State campuses to provide you with Academic, Career, and Personal Counseling. Call (386) 506-3038 to schedule an appointment. If you are unsure of your
career goals, a counselor can assist you in choosing the best possible
courses while you are working on your career plans. We can meet with you in a
private session, or in a group for a workshop to explore career-related
issues. We can assist you to select the right major through our SLS2304
Career Exploration course, career assessments, and our individualized career
portfolio system. Academic Counseling also is available to help you when you have problems in your classes. Whether you have difficulty passing tests, problems making friends or getting along with different people at the college, we can help you to find the right strategy to help you to grow in mastery of your academic life. Counselors are also here for you when personal issues seem overwhelming and you need someone who will listen and help you sort things out. We are especially sensitive to the needs of our students who struggle with depression, anxiety, or other psychological challenges that can interfere with success in college. We also provide a variety of workshops throughout the year, serve as your advocate in times of conflict, and help you find the right supports to meet your needs. We encourage all students to get to know the Counselors who can provide valuable support during your time at Daytona State.
