Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is an acceleration mechanism that provides students in a Florida public or private high school or in a home school program an educational option to simultaneously earn college credit toward the associate of arts degree, associate of applied science degree, associate of science degree or vocational credit toward a certificate program and credit toward requirements for a high school diploma. Students are exempt from the payment of registration, tuition, and laboratory fees.

Students must meet eligibility criteria to participate in Dual Enrollment which includes:

·         Required minimum high school GPA as specified in Florida Statute (1007.271 F.S.);

·         Completing the required assessment tests (CPT, SAT/ACT, or TABE);

·         Adherence to all College policies and procedures (including registration deadlines), with the understanding that course work will appear on a Daytona State official transcript and will be counted toward college level programs, GPA, and transfer.  It is the responsibility of the student to withdraw if necessary by the published deadline.

Public and private high school students should first contact their guidance counselor at their respective high school.  After verification of eligibility, the student brings the Dual Enrollment Approval Form received from the high school counselor to the College Admissions Office.

Home schooled students begin the process at the College Admissions Office.
