A new course, SLS1101 College Resources, has been designed to engage students with important academic resources (Library, Academic Support Center, Writing Center) and assist them toward successful completion of a critical gatekeeper course, ENC1101 Introduction to Composition. Students must take both classes concurrently.
Though College Resources is open to anyone, it is required for first time in college AA degree-seeking students scoring below 109 on the writing section of the PERT. For students without a PERT score, this requirement will be determined by a high school GPA under 3.00. However, students are exempt from this requirement if they have successfully completed SLS1122 with a grade of “C” or better.
Note: For those students who are required to take SLS1101, a drop from SLS1101 will result in a drop from ENC1101.
