Daytona State College has been a leader in offering Dual Enrollment opportunities to high school students. The Early College is part of the Dual Enrollment program, with a planned set of courses scheduled for students. Early College students take two classes at their high school and four classes at the College. Students will be able to meet General Education requirements of the Associate of Arts degree while at the same time completing the high school requirements. Eligibility is limited to high school juniors and seniors who have earned a 3.0 high school GPA at the end of their sophomore year and who can test into college level courses.
Two years of free college has many advantages:
- Students earn college credit while satisfying high school requirements.
- Students get a head start on their higher education degree.
- College credit courses are weighted the same as AP and IB .
- There is no cost for tuition, fees, or books; therefore, saving you up to five thousand dollars ($5,000).
