All new students admitted to a degree or certificate program may have to take a placement test. The results will help with your placement into appropriate courses to ensure your academic success. Placement tests are not used for admission to the college, although they may be used as a guide for admission to certain limited access programs.

The placement test for degree programs (the Associate of Arts degree and Associate of Science Degrees) and College Credit Certificates is the CPT (College Placement Test).
The placement test for vocational certificate programs is the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education).
You may be exempt from taking a placement test if you meet one or more of the following criteria:

Test scores cannot be given to anyone other than the actual test taker without the written consent of the test taker. Test scores cannot be given over the telephone.
