College Transcript Requirements
Official transcripts are required from all previously attended colleges
and universities for students entering any AA, AS, AAS, or Certificate
program, whether or not the certificate program requires a high school diploma.
In order for college transcripts to be considered official they must be
sent directly from the issuing institution to Daytona State or hand delivered in a sealed envelope by the student from the institution.
Electronic transcripts received through FASTER are also considered
official. Faxes are not considered official.
Exceptions:
- Special credit (non-degree) - transcripts are waived. Students
enrolling in this major will be required to declare a major by their 15th
credit hour. Placement testing requirements will go into effect as
students reach their 15th credit hour if still enrolled in the non-degree
special credit major.
- Special credit (degree holding) - final, official transcript with
the degree (a Florida awarded Associates of Arts or a Bachelors or
higher) is required. A copy of a Florida teaching certificate may be
submitted in lieu of the official transcript.
- Apprenticeship majors - college transcripts are waived.
- College credits earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated and translated, if applicable, by a NACES
approved company. If the student wants transfer credit, a
course-by-course evaluation is required. If he/she does not want
transfer credit, we can accept a document-by-document evaluation.
