Program Description This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to function as preschool teachers and caregivers. With this certificate students can work as caregivers in private or public preschools, paraprofessionals in public schools, or VPK teachers in public schools, child care facilities or preschools. This certificate program meets all the requirements for the National CDA (Child Development Associate Certificate). All the required courses in this certificate program can be applied toward the AS Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Note: The length of this program makes it ineligible for federal and state financial aid.

Approximate Additional Costs FDLE Background Check - $24

Additional Admission Requirements - In addition to the required courses, students will be required to have a current approved certificate in first aid and infant/child CPR and the mandated DCF child care training hours.

- It may be necessary for the student to enroll in a college preparatory English, Math, or Reading course based upon College Placement Test scores.
