Course Title: Survey of Counseling Theory and Practice

Course Description:
This course surveys the field of counseling theory and practice. The major theories that guide the practice of mental health counseling are investigated, including the personality theories which are the underpinnings of many theoretical approaches. Further, this course reviews issues related to the counselor as a person and a professional and considers ethical issues in counseling practice. This course will help satisfy the graduation requirements of the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. SP
