Course Title: Introduction to Health Care

Course Description:
Introduction to current practices and issues in health care. Content includes social and cultural responses to health problems of individuals and families; health care delivery in primary, secondary, and tertiary settings; critical thinking; health care professions; standards of practice; health care organizations; United States health policies; issues of finance, ethics, legal rights of patients and health care workers; infection control; universal precautions; and principles of effective communication and computer applications to health care.
