Nursing professionals combine the art of caring with the science of health care to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients and their families cope with illness. A career in nursing provides the opportunity to reach out to people and to truly make a difference each and every day.

Associate of Science Degree Registered Nurse (R.N.)

Nurses have never been more important to health care than they are today. In fact, registered nursing constitutes the largest health care occupation with 2.3 million jobs and it is expected to continue to grow.

At Daytona State College, you will receive the technical skills and theory needed to function successfully as an RN. You will learn how to:

  • Observe and assess symptoms, reactions and progress in patients
  • Assist physicians during surgeries, treatments and examinations
  • Administer medications
  • Assist in convalescence and rehabilitation
