Department Introduction
The Health & Wellness academic program at Daytona
State offers students an opportunity to select one
course or several courses to develop and build
individualized behavior change that is desired by
the student. These learning opportunities all count
toward the AA degree as either general education or
elective requirements. Courses in human nutrition,
personal health and wellness, fitness assessment
and improvement, athletic training and sports
nutrition provide the necessary information and
knowledge for students to build a personal plan for
individual improvement. Courses in first aid and
responding to emergencies provide students with an
opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will
be useful throughout life, along with the ability to
bridge that learning with attainment of American
Red Cross certifications. Join the thousands of
students who have utilized these courses to meet
the academic requirements of their degree while
meeting their personal learning needs or behavior
change desires to improve their quality of life.
