Department Introduction
The School of Humanities and Communications
offers a variety of courses designed to develop
your communication, reading and critical thinking
skills. Through courses offered, you will develop
the oral and written communication skills that are
essential for success in college, in the world of work,
and beyond. You also will have the opportunity to
appreciate great literature. The school also offers
courses in creative writing, report writing, literature
and humanities.
Our English Club / Sigma Kappa Delta invites anyone interested to join for meetings, film screenings and trips to local play productions. Many faculty also volunteer their time in the Academic Support Center in an effort to be even more accessible to their students. Others are involved with theatrical productions on campus. We welcome you to Daytona State College, and we look forward to helping you to realize your goals -- and to have fun along the way.
